LOG BOOK

We have just came off the set of the feature film „I Forgive”, directed by Dariusz Lomako and Marcin Borchardt. This was our first sound production outside the studio, although there had been several occasions for similar outings. We have always made excuses for our lack of time and experience in this type of recording. Why did we get persuaded to go outdoors this time? The group that is making this project has strong regional ties. The directors, actors and technical staff are for the most part people we know or have already had the opportunity to work with. We knew that the atmosphere would be great and that we would learn the art of filmmaking together. But most importantly, we were given a ‘free hand’ both in terms of on-set production and post-production. Up until now we have been improving the sound after someone else, and now we will be carving our own tracks. On the set, we assumed that we would combine the studio techniques we already knew with the experience of our colleagues who work in film soundtracking on a daily basis and we are very curious to see the final result. Our offsite crew included Tomek Bartos, Hanna Bartos and Maciej Trembowiecki, who will also be responsible for the music for this picture (it’s going to be a firecracker!). We still have a lot of work ahead of us but we believe the result will be worth it.

 

Well, it’s the first cats for fences. Perhaps this is the start of a new adventure? After all, the next time a film crew types the phrase “sound on set in Koszalin” or “sound on set in Pomerania” into a search engine, they will probably come to us.
