POLISH VERSION OF KUNG FURY WITH TOMASZ KNAPIK

Thanks to the kindness of Laser Unicorns, we present the Polish version of the Kung Fury movie, read by the legendary and unbeatable Tomasz Knapik!

What is Kung Fury?

„During a series of unfortunate events, Kung Fury’s friend is murdered. The perpetrator is the most dangerous criminal of all time, the master of Kung Fu Adolf Hitler, also known as Kung Führer (Jorma Taccone). Kung Fury (David Sandberg) decides to go back in time to Nazi Germany to kill Hitler and put an end to the Nazi empire once and for all.”

That’s the description from the Filmweb.pl website. But the film is just the culmination of this amazing story.

The power of crowdfunding!

Dawid Sandberg, the creator of Kung Fury, perfectly utilized the sentimental fashion of the 80s. The idea for the film and the short trailer appeared on the pages of the American Kickstarter service in December 2013, and a month later the funds were raised. Fans of kitschy action films supported the project with over $600,000, three times more than the estimated costs of production that Sandberg had projected.

Polish version

The idea appeared in several places on the internet at the same time. However, there was no doubt that the Polish version of this outstanding work should be read by Tomasz Knapik. The idea was brought to us by Maciej Trembowiecki, who became the main manager of the project. Engaged by Mikrofonika, Tomasz Knapik didn’t hesitate for a moment. The work on the Polish dialogue track was done at an express pace. Additionally, the most difficult “puns” were greatly helped by the fans of the action on the Facebook profile >Tomasz Knapik as the narrator in “Kung Fury”<.

The effect?

The message spread virally. We did not use advertising support. The film appeared on YouTube on July 7th, 2015 and within 24 hours it made it to the front page. Today it has over 800,000 views. All the major portals in Poland wrote about it, as well as radio and television stations.
